Delivery Driver/Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and make deliveries and pickups at customer and vendor locations
• Drive EMCO trucks safely in compliance with traffic laws and provincial legislation
• Pick customer orders and secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting
• Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain driver logs
• Handle shipping documents including GHS classifications
• Unload materials at delivery sites and resolve shipping discrepancies
• Support warehouse activities including picking, packing, shipping, and receiving
• Perform general warehouse duties and bin locating

Requirements

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
• Knowledge of motor vehicle and commercial vehicle regulations
• Understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle and material handling equipment
• Strong relationship building skills
• Ability to function effectively in stressful or emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a truck and making deliveries
• Knowledge of plumbing or building products
• Experience using Trend, Word, Excel, and Outlook
