Defense System Evaluation Simulation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools supporting Department of Defense (DoD) modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Develop high-performance software solutions for scientific computing, mission analysis, and system-level simulations.
• Create data visualization tools to support operational decision-making activities.
• Translate operational requirements into functional software capabilities within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support government and commercial customers through software engineering and numerical methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in software development using C++, Python, Java, C#, or MATLAB.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience developing or supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) applications, scientific software, or analytical tools.
• Familiarity with source control and collaborative tools such as Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in an engineering discipline, Operational Research, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in USAF operational or logistics planning/policy.
• 5+ years of experience in DoD Operational Research or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of Air Force and DoD operational planning processes.
• Experience planning and executing workshops, seminars, or wargames.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) clearance within one year of hire.
