Defense Procurement Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term commodity sourcing strategies and secure cross-functional buy-in
• Lead strategic sourcing for the Physical AI stack, including high-performance GPU clusters, edge-compute modules, and specialized sensors (LiDAR, thermal, radio)
• Create and execute RFx strategies to drive value and reduce costs
• Partner with Engineering from the prototyping phase to ensure hardware meets SWaP-C requirements for ruggedized defense
• Develop procurement processes in compliance with FAR and DFARS
• Ensure organizational readiness and compliance for DCMA Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR)
• Build and manage strong relationships with industry-leading suppliers

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or global supply management
• 2+ years of experience leading Physical AI or Robotics procurement (GPUs/FPGA, edge-processing, or advanced sensing suites)
• Deep expertise with FAR, DFARS, DCMA audits, and CPSR
• Proven experience in DoD, aerospace, or defense contracting environments
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business, or a related field
• Exceptional negotiation and executive-level communication skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and execute in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA degree
• Experience working within a rapidly evolving startup environment
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Slack
