About the role
Responsibilities
- Support defect control and reduction in a high-volume 24x7 manufacturing environment to achieve yield and performance goals
- Act as the Defect Reduction representative for New Product Introduction (NPI), including inline inspection strategy and spec audits
- Perform fab process and tool trend data analysis to identify root causes and prevent inline process excursions
- Work cross-functionally with Yield Enhancement and Process Integration teams to evaluate defect data and excursion monitoring
- Establish trend monitoring plans for new technology introductions (14nm & foundry) and existing legacy production nodes
- Respond to foundry customer requests by delivering detailed data and analysis
- Support new technology and process transfer projects from Samsung HQ
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 10 years of semiconductor process engineering experience specifically in defect monitoring and reduction
- Proficiency in SPC and DOE methodology
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks under shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading logic technology development (45nm or below)
- Experience with advanced defect inspection and review tools such as bright field, dark field, e-beam, or Vis-edge
- Knowledge of Klarity Defect software or similar semiconductor processing applications
- Strong data mining and troubleshooting skills
