Deckplate Performance Coach

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to front-line supervisors to improve productivity, schedule adherence, and operational excellence.
• Coach supervisors on effective work planning, staging, communication, and ensuring readiness of personnel, tools, and materials.
• Maintain a strong deckplate presence to provide real-time guidance, resolve barriers, and reinforce best practices for supervision and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to increase productivity, improve shift handoffs, and enhance coordination between supervisors and supporting trades.
• Mentor General Foremen and Area Superintendents on reinforcing effective supervisory behaviors to sustain long-term performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of industrial supervisory experience within the shipbuilding or ship maintenance industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of second-level management experience in an industrial environment.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Demonstrated experience leading workforce productivity and operational improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of shipyard operations, work package execution, and industrial safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Navy shipbuilding, submarine maintenance, or naval industrial operations.
• Experience implementing productivity improvement and workforce development initiatives.
• Familiarity with multi-shift industrial production environments.
