Decanter Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and reconditioning of high-speed separators, decanters, pumps, and valves in a service center environment
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, measure, and assemble products and subassemblies to meet specification standards
• Work from drawings, blueprints, and parts lists to evaluate repair costs and required materials
• Set up and operate test stands and balance rotating equipment using approved methods
• Diagnose and correct mechanical functions through adjustments and various tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with material movement inside the shop
• Document test results, repair requirements, and shipment details for units and parts

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in a manual repair, workshop, or manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand complicated blueprints, drawings, and sketches
• Proficiency using micrometers and gauges in both English and Metric measures
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose mechanical problems
• Knowledge of welding processes
• Experience operating forklifts, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
• Basic computer literacy for tasks such as scanning barcodes and time tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vibration analyzing and balancing equipment
