Debris Staff

Responsibilities

• Monitor the collection of disaster-generated debris from authorized areas and document work performed
• Ensure only FEMA eligible debris is removed, loaded, and hauled to disposal sites
• Work with contractors and crews on-site and report to field supervisors
• Operate smartphone applications or hand-held units to record vital information
• Ensure debris loads are properly contained in loading containers
• Record and report any damage resulting from debris removal operations
• Attend safety and operational briefings

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of FEMA eligible debris removal and hauling
• Ability to work outdoors for long hours in varying weather conditions
• Access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance and a clean driving record
• Possession of a smartphone or tablet for data entry
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to deploy anywhere in the US with 24-48 hours notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of debris monitoring experience
• Experience with multiple storm recovery events
• Experience with waterways, permitting, or ACI burning
