About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor the collection of disaster-generated debris from authorized areas and document work performed
- Ensure only FEMA eligible debris is removed, loaded, and hauled to disposal sites
- Work with contractors and crews on-site and report to field supervisors
- Operate smartphone applications or hand-held units to record vital information
- Ensure debris loads are properly contained in loading containers
- Record and report any damage resulting from debris removal operations
- Attend safety and operational briefings
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of FEMA eligible debris removal and hauling
- Ability to work outdoors for long hours in varying weather conditions
- Access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance and a clean driving record
- Possession of a smartphone or tablet for data entry
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to deploy anywhere in the US with 24-48 hours notice
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of debris monitoring experience
- Experience with multiple storm recovery events
- Experience with waterways, permitting, or ACI burning
