Debate Institute Resident Staff

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in residence halls to ensure compliance with institute rules and behavioral expectations
• Conduct regular room and hallway checks to maintain cleanliness and organization
• Enforce curfew and behavioral policies, documenting any violations for leadership
• Act as a liaison between the institute and parents/guardians regarding student welfare
• Support logistics including mail distribution, mealtime organization, and student movement coordination

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience coaching or competing in high school or college-level academic debate
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to remain calm and proactive when supervising students

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with high school students in a residential, educational, or camp setting
