Dean of Education

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the School of Education, including program directors, faculty, and staff.
• Oversee academic program quality, curriculum assessment, and the development of new academic programs.
• Manage school operations, including budget planning, fiscal management, and personnel administration.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and state requirements, such as those from the Texas Education Agency.
• Foster faculty research, scholarship, and professional development.
• Cultivate relationships with external partners, including school districts, donors, and community organizations.
• Support enrollment and retention initiatives through data-informed scheduling and marketing strategies.

Requirements

• Earned academic doctorate in a discipline related to the School of Education.
• Professional or clinical credentials in an education-related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of experience within Texas public schools or higher education institutions.
• Proven administrative leadership experience at the dean, chair, or program director level.
• Experience managing budgets and personnel.
• Demonstrated experience with professionally accredited academic programs and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with clinical site development and oversight for student field experiences.
• Experience incorporating both traditional and distance education programs.
• Proven track record in fundraising and cultivating donor relationships.
• Familiarity with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements for teacher education programs.
