DCS Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the Steam Methane Reformer based hydrogen plant, including CO2 removal, compression, PSA, and membrane units via DCS
• Monitor and control all process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, and levels to ensure stable operations
• Execute emergency operating procedures and act as the first line of response for process emergencies
• Manage safe work permits, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and management of change (MOC) protocols
• Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams to prepare equipment for maintenance and ensure safe reintegration
• Maintain accurate logs of operating parameters, significant events, and production data
• Perform detailed plant start-up sequences from cold, warm, or hot standby conditions
• Identify root causes of process deviations and collaborate with engineers on long-term solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Process Operations
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Lead DCS Operations
• Proven experience in SMR-based Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, or Syngas plants
• Proficiency with DCS platforms such as Yokogawa Centum VP or Siemens PCS 7
• Deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and process control
• Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and decision-making abilities under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
