DCIM Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify DCIM problem statements, propose solutions, and define scopes of work with project plans.
• Set up and configure Sunbird’s DCIM suite, including dcTrack and Power IQ.
• Research technical specifications and images for IT and data center equipment.
• Analyze, scrub, and migrate data from current sources to the DCIM database.
• Develop and enhance documentation to improve the customer experience.
• Assist with software testing for new features and fixes developed by the engineering team.
• Facilitate timely resolution of customer issues via the Sunbird Support Portal.
• Host online training sessions for clients and partners regarding software enhancements.
• Provide weekly status updates to clients on deliverables, milestones, and billing.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience providing customer support for complex technical solutions in data center environments.
• Knowledge of data center networks and protocols including TCP/IP, VLANs, SNMP, and Modbus.
• Knowledge of data center facilities components such as UPS, PDUs, and single/3-phase power.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL/SQL and VMware vSphere ESX/ESXi configuration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio for working with drawings.
• Ability to travel up to 50% globally and work flexible hours.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Center Certifications (e.g., DCI, DCIM).
• Project Management certification.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
