Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the dayside editorial team to drive impactful journalism.
  • Own the editorial vision and execution of content across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
  • Drive urgent and enterprising coverage for late newscasts and digital platforms, ensuring accuracy and strong storytelling.
  • Guide the team through breaking news situations with real-time, strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with story desk editors to optimize content for web, app, social, and OTT audiences.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusiveness, and ethical journalism.
  • Coach team members in creative writing and best practices for multi-format storytelling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of professional newsroom experience.
  • 2+ years of newsroom leadership experience.
  • Proven expertise in digital content strategy.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to lead during major news events.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
