Day Service Assistant Facilitator

Responsibilities

• Facilitate individual and group activities, special events, and spiritual care programs based on member interests and abilities.
• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety rules, monitoring the facility, and providing crisis intervention when required.
• Support members' health and medical needs, including the accurate administration and recording of medication.
• Implement person-centered plans by gathering information on individual goals and communicating observations to the Coordinator.
• Encourage personal development and independence by role-modeling appropriate behavior and assisting with community participation.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and perform light housekeeping and property maintenance duties.
• Manage program resources wisely, including maintaining financial records and assisting with inventory.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, reaching, and manual transfers.
• Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening.
• Must provide a Manitoba Child Abuse Registry Check.
• Must provide a Manitoba Adult Abuse Registry Check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a day program or social service environment is considered an asset.
