Day Camp Leader

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily camp operations, ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of all campers and staff
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to camp staff to ensure adherence to policies
• Plan and implement engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate camp activities and schedules
• Manage camper issues, including conflicts, behavioral challenges, and first aid situations
• Maintain administrative documentation, including attendance records and incident reports
• Coordinate daily logistics such as supplies, facility use, and transportation
• Serve as a positive role model for campers and staff through professional and enthusiastic leadership

Requirements

• Standard First Aid + CPR & AED (Intermediate First Aid)
• Valid Police check with vulnerable sector search
• Valid Child intervention check
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 29 lbs
• Willingness to support the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working in a summer camping program setting
• Relevant post-secondary coursework in Education, Outdoor Survival, Administration, or Program Coordination
