Day Camp Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily themed artistic, creative, and hands-on components of the day camp experience
• Coordinate and lead various group or individual projects and activities for campers
• Provide supervision and engagement for children and youth, including kindergarten, elementary, and youth programming
• Assist with recreational programming at local parks and manage indoor/outdoor environments for health and safety
• Handle setup and cleanup of activities and prepare necessary supplies
• Interact professionally with parents and collaborate with teammates and volunteers
• Manage behavioral concerns in conjunction with the Program Coordinator
• Assist with the camp registration process

Requirements

• Experience working with children and knowledge of child development
• Experience leading children through Vacation Bible School (VBS) material
• Responsible Adult Certification
• First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must meet Canada Summer Jobs program eligibility requirements regarding age and legal status
