Day Camp Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of summer camping programs in consultation with Corps Officers
• Facilitate diverse recreation activities and programs to broaden camper interests
• Manage camp equipment, including inventory, labeling, storage, and maintenance reporting
• Assist with staff schedules, including break rotations and options facilitation
• Provide support for indoor activities and rainy day programming
• Participate in staff training, devotions, and end-of-season camp cleanup

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a summer camping program setting
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector background check
• Successful screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry
• Ability to work long hours in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Strong leadership skills and a flexible, positive disposition

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary coursework or education in Education, Outdoor Survival Skills, Theological Studies, or Program Coordination
• Experience in administration or program coordination
