Day Camp Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Instruct, plan, and implement summer day camp programs including recreational games, crafts, and Bible lessons
• Supervise and interact with campers to ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually focused environment
• Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of children through relational programming
• Assist with daily operations such as check-in/out, attendance, snack preparation, and supply securing
• Monitor camper safety during large and small group activities and field trips
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in compliance with organizational policies and OH&S regulations
• Communicate effectively with the Day Camp Coordinator regarding staff or camper issues

Requirements

• Minimum grade nine education
• Experience working with children (volunteer or professional experience in a camp setting preferred)
• Ability to lift and move up to 29 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks like bending and stooping
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Must meet Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility (typically aged 15-30, Canadian citizen or permanent resident)

Preferred Qualifications

• Current, valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
