Day Camp Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the St. Albert Salvation Army Summer Day Camp
• Develop and implement camp programs, including daily activity schedules and setup/cleanup
• Manage staff scheduling for programming and breaks
• Develop and maintain the camp budget
• Ensure the safety and quality of childcare for all campers
• Work alongside staff and volunteers to implement activities and interact directly with children
• Participate in staff meetings and conduct daily debriefs with the team
• Keep leadership informed of pertinent events, issues involving staff, parents, or children

Requirements

• Post-secondary coursework or relevant experience in education, administration, or program coordination
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a summer camp program setting
• Proven experience working with children and planning activities
• Ability to lead a team, organize staff, and manage schedules
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active, indoor and outdoor environment
• Successful completion of a vulnerable sector background check
• A clean driver's abstract
