Datadog Administration and Operations (Servicenow)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an enterprise-grade observability strategy using Datadog (metrics, logs, traces/APM, synthetics, RUM) and ServiceNow.
• Define monitoring standards, tagging conventions, dashboards, SLOs/SLIs, and alerting policies for infrastructure and applications.
• Deploy and manage Datadog agents and integrations across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and various databases.
• Optimize Datadog to ServiceNow event routing, including correlation rules, deduplication, and automated Incident/Problem creation.
• Maintain CI relationships in the ServiceNow CMDB and drive discovery mapping.
• Automate the provisioning of monitors, dashboards, and synthetics using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting.
• Drive operational excellence by reducing alert noise and improving MTTR through telemetry-backed corrective actions.
• Implement governance, RBAC, and cost optimization strategies for Datadog usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Platform, SRE, or Observability roles within enterprise environments.
• Expert hands-on experience with Datadog (agents, integrations, logs pipelines, APM, RUM, and synthetics).
• Deep expertise in ServiceNow, specifically Event Management, Incident/Problem/Change, and CMDB design.
• Proficiency in Linux, Windows, or Unix environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform and Git-based workflows.
• Knowledge of network monitoring (NPM/NTA) and database monitoring (Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL).
• Experience with distributed tracing for microservices and message brokers like Tibco.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
• Datadog or ServiceNow Admin/Developer certifications.
