About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale data and AI programs as a subject matter expert for the Databricks platform.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on holistic data and AI strategy.
  • Manage, coach, and develop cross-functional teams of data engineers, data scientists, and architects.
  • Design complex, data-driven architectures integrating data engineering, BI, and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Provide technical oversight on project delivery, ensuring best practices for data governance (Unity Catalog), security, and MLOps.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant STEM field.
  • 7+ years of experience leading the delivery of complex, large-scale data and AI initiatives using Databricks.
  • 5+ years of experience with Databricks features such as Lakeflow Connect, Lakebase, Agent Bricks, Model Serving, Genie, and Databricks Apps.
  • 2+ years of experience managing technical teams on client engagements.
  • 2+ years of experience in data strategy, modern data architectures, and enterprise AI governance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Databricks certifications (e.g., Data Engineer Professional, Machine Learning Professional).
  • Experience with executive-level stakeholder management and communication.
  • Previous experience working within the public sector.
  • Active public sector security clearance.
