Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design database structures aligned with overall system architecture
• Support database administration and design for short- and long-term requirements
• Translate requirements into usable database schemas, ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros
• Build and maintain complex systems using queries, tables, ODBC, and cloud-based storage
• Lead the development of database structures, parser software, and loading software
• Ensure system performance by managing data volumes, user numbers, and security
• Evaluate and recommend improvements, optimizations, and maintenance efforts
• Integrate emerging technologies such as messaging protocols like RabbitMQ

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity
• At least 7 years developing SQL Server database architecture
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline or 4 years of equivalent database engineering experience
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher
• LENEL Certified Expert (LCE) with a concentration in databases
