Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end database operations including backup, recovery, monitoring, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
• Drive database reliability and performance optimization through SQL tuning, index optimization, and root-cause investigation.
• Implement database security and governance controls, including access management, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain and validate disaster recovery solutions, including RPO/RTO planning, failover drills, and cross-region replication.
• Deliver database migration, scaling, sharding, and high-availability solutions for business-critical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of database management experience.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud or AWS.
• Proficiency in relational, NoSQL, and distributed database architectures.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, HBase, and Kafka.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Perl or PHP.
• Proven experience delivering high-availability designs in large-scale production environments.
