Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage SQL Server and Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization improvements.
• Perform regular database backups, restores, and manage disaster recovery plans.
• Troubleshoot database issues including slow queries, data integrity, and connectivity problems.
• Manage user access, security policies, and role assignments across database environments.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and version upgrades of new database systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and maintenance logs.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional experience in database administration.
• Proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle database management.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL (SQL Server) and PL/SQL (Oracle).
• Experience using management tools such as SSMS or Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and security principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or Oracle Cloud).
• Knowledge of automation or scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or SQL scripts.
