Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle Exadata Cloud Service on Dedicated Infrastructure within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Configure and maintain databases supporting critical operational systems in a 24/7 environment.
• Deliver patching, upgrades, and security hardening in line with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
• Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents, performing root cause analysis and driving permanent remediation.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application support teams across EMEA/APAC.
• Contribute to the maintenance of database monitoring, automation, and observability tooling.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, change management processes, and SOX control objectives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Oracle Exadata and Maximum Availability Architecture (including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN).
• Proven track record as an Oracle DBA in mission-critical production environments.
• Deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including SQL tuning and AWR/ASH/ADDM analysis.
• Experience working in a regulated environment with an understanding of risk and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with backup/recovery, failover, patching, and upgrades.
• Proficiency with Linux-based environments and shell scripting.
• Ability to work effectively within a global follow-the-sun support model.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OCI database services and cloud database platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Exposure to multiple database platforms such as SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Background in financial services or other high-availability, low-latency environments.
