Database Administrator III

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Implement database security controls including encryption and access controls per RMF and STIG requirements
• Manage database backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions
• Support database integration with enterprise applications and systems
• Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Ensure compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies
• Support system accreditation (ATO) activities including documentation and remediation

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in database administration or engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator
• Eligibility to obtain Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD or Navy programs and classified environments
• Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS RDS or Azure SQL
• Familiarity with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or SQL
• Experience with data replication, clustering, and disaster recovery architectures
