Database Administrator II

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain on-prem and cloud SQL Server database environments (2016/2019/2022)
• Manage database availability groups, replication, and failover clustering
• Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations
• Monitor database uptime, performance, and resources, and advise on query optimization
• Ensure robust backup and recovery strategies and tested disaster recovery procedures
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX
• Provide senior-level technical support for database-related issues across all sites
• Collaborate with application support and development teams to deliver high performing solutions
• Create and maintain comprehensive global documentation of database systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT with a bachelor's degree or 9+ years of total experience
• 5+ years of experience in a database focused technology role
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server DBA in a distributed multi-instance environment
• Experience with Azure SQL Database and managed instances
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation
• Understanding of Windows Server administration and storage systems
• Experience with database monitoring tools like SolarWinds, RedGate, or Idera
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes
