About the role
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and implement policies for database security and integrity
- Organize and format data for efficient queries and storage
- Establish and maintain user accounts
- Perform disaster recovery, performance tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring
- Support data modeling activities and prototype database implementations
- Install DBMSs, databases, tables, and views
- Direct monitoring, administration, and optimization of database systems
- Coordinate architecture changes with Database Engineers
- Evaluate requirements and recommend appropriate DBMS products
- Oversee use of current and emerging database tools and technologies
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity
- At least 5 years administering Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT discipline or equivalent experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher
