Data Strategist

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the data strategy for trading and commercial teams
• Act as the primary interface between Business and IT, translating commercial needs into technical requirements
• Partner with Digital, IT, and Data Engineering teams to shape data architecture, ingestion patterns, and governance frameworks
• Own and maintain core analytical assets, including curated datasets, definitions, and foundational dashboards
• Enable the adoption of AI and advanced analytics tools while guiding best practices for data access
• Improve data quality, lineage, and controls to build trust and reproducibility in analytics solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data strategy, analytics, data engineering, or commercial analytics
• Proficiency in data analysis and transformation tools such as SQL, Python, Databricks, or Power BI
• Experience working with data pipelines, platforms, and data modelling concepts
• Demonstrated ability to translate commercial needs into technical requirements and communicate with diverse audiences
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive structure in ambiguous situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting trading, commercial, or supply and value chain organizations
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Exposure to enterprise data governance or data product management concepts
• Understanding of data quality frameworks, lineage, metadata, and reproducibility standards
