Data Steward

Responsibilities

• Manage, structure, and optimize geospatial and enterprise data to ensure accuracy and usability
• Apply expertise in GIS, data schemas, and georeferencing to maintain spatial data
• Design, normalize, and optimize data architectures using RDBMS
• Support enterprise geodatabases such as Spatial Database Engines (SDEs)
• Utilize ArcGIS Suite, ArcGIS Online, Portal, SQL, Oracle, Excel, and Access to maintain high-quality datasets
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to improve data workflows and enforce governance

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain a CI Poly
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated understanding of GIS, data schemas, and georeferencing
• Knowledge of extraction and metadata specifications
• Knowledge of RDBMS architectures, data normalization, and performance tuning
• Knowledge of enterprise geodatabases (SDEs)
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Suite, ArcGIS Online, Portal, Excel, Access, and SQL
• Familiarity with ontology concepts and data modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python
• Understanding of cartographic principles
• Knowledge of Tableau or other data visualization tools
• Experience in data governance, stewardship, or quality initiatives
• GEOINT Professional Certifications (Fundamentals or Geospatial Data Management)
