About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance loss forecasting frameworks and maintain efficient reporting processes to communicate drivers to senior management.
  • Conduct portfolio analyses to monitor credit performance, identify root causes of changing profiles, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Apply predictive modeling techniques, portfolio segmentation, and champion/challenger methodologies to refine credit strategies.
  • Support business acquisition and due diligence exercises within the retail lending space.
  • Ensure credit policies and procedures remain compliant with applicable regulatory requirements and risk appetite.
  • Provide executive summaries on portfolio performance and risk concerns for governance forums and support audit efforts.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in data science or risk management.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High proficiency in SAS and Excel (Mandatory).
  • Strong expertise in time series analysis, risk segmentation, and vintage/cohort performance tracking.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk processes, loss forecasting, and the loan life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python, SQL, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in risk management.
  • Familiarity with risk management metrics, KPIs, and KRIs.
