Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Support technical staff, engineers, and project managers by collecting, interpreting, and warehousing data for market research, logistics, and business decisions.
• Source and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources including field work, surveys, blueprints, and financial reports.
• Assist in the development of modeling techniques, analytical strategies, and algorithms to identify patterns and trends in big data.
• Use tools like Tableau, Looker, and Google Data Studio to build dashboards featuring relevant KPIs and metrics for internal and client-facing use.
• Prepare data visualizations and concise reports summarizing research findings, using tables, charts, and illustrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with risk identification and assessment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Data Analysis, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience working as a data scientist or analyst.
• Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Strong mathematical acumen and familiarity with statistics and predictive models.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively communicate complex data in a simple, actionable manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience within the engineering consulting industry.
