Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain supervised and unsupervised models for fraud detection, credit risk scoring, and AML typology identification.
• Build real-time scoring pipelines integrating with banking event streams like Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Design and fine-tune LLMs (Gemini, GPT-4o, Llama) using PEFT and LoRA for banking-specific tasks.
• Architect Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using vector stores such as Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate.
• Operationalize models using MLOps tooling including MLflow, Kubeflow, or Vertex AI Pipelines.
• Write production-ready, unit-tested Python code and expose model outputs via FastAPI or Flask microservices.
• Enforce Responsible AI principles through bias audits and fairness metrics.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Science with a focus on fraud or banking domains.
• Proven track record building fraud models (e.g., account takeover, synthetic identity, or money-mule networks).
• Expertise in supervised learning (XGBoost, LightGBM) and unsupervised methods (isolation forest, autoencoders).
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI stacks, including LLM fine-tuning and RAG architecture.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and SQL for complex analytical queries.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (Vertex AI), AWS (SageMaker), or Azure.
• Strong understanding of MLOps fundamentals, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with graph analytics (Neo4j, PyG) for network-based fraud detection.
• Familiarity with banking data schemas like ISO 8583 or SWIFT messages.
• Knowledge of MLOps tools like Kubeflow or Vertex AI Pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks or large-scale feature engineering.
• Exposure to open-banking APIs and real-time payment rails.
