About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate new models using time series forecasting techniques using Python and/or integrating third-party tools.
- Collaborate with global data scientists, analysts, and software developers to deliver data-driven tools for chemical, lubricants, and fuels value chains.
- Act as a single point of contact for specific data science problems across multiple domains to drive technology uptake and value generation.
- Support the discovery, development, and deployment of technologies consistent with the strategic vision and business partner goals.
- Assist in developing technical training content and support the execution of the company's AI strategy.
- Demonstrate industry leadership through publications, patents, or conference presentations.
Requirements
- PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, IT, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0).
- At least 3 years of specialized experience in time series forecasting (academic, research, or industrial).
- Proficiency in Python and key libraries including NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis (classification, regression, Bayesian techniques) and machine learning (deep learning, neural networks, ensemble methods).
- Familiarity with Agile software development and testing practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supply chain, trading, or commercial activities such as pricing and demand forecasting.
- Prior experience working within professional software development teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working in a global, collaborative environment.
