Data Scientist, Principal

Responsibilities

• Provide embedded Defensive Cyber operations support, capability integration, and rapid prototyping in support of USCYBERCOM.
• Utilize statistics, machine learning, and analytic approaches to answer key intelligence questions and produce reusable products for Intelligence Analysts.
• Apply machine learning techniques to identify data features, find hidden patterns, build classifiers, and create automated anomaly detection systems.
• Evaluate statistical models for validity and collaborate with software developers to implement models into production.
• Curate and collect data from traditional and non-traditional sources, ensuring seamless integration and loading into data stores.
• Collaborate with other Data Scientists to develop tools for monitoring model performance and data accuracy.
• Communicate complex results and ideas effectively to key decision makers and stakeholders.
• Document all processes, models, and activities through a formal configuration management plan.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (required for consideration).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8 years of experience (or an advanced degree in lieu of years of experience).
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of Defensive Cyber Operations experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Machine Learning techniques and statistical model evaluation.
• Experience managing end-to-end workflows and projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field and 4 years of experience.
• Demonstrated expertise with R, Python, and SQL for large-scale data manipulation.
• Exposure to AWS (Amazon Web Services), Cisco (CCNA), and/or STIGs/IAVA.
• Experience with Big Data Platforms (BDP).
• Strong background in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), Windows, or Virtual environments.
• Proficiency with Jupyter Notebooks and Network Analysis Tools.
