Data Scientist & Machine Learning Researcher

Responsibilities

• Develop novel data science solutions and contribute to machine learning projects within a team
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks for both customer and internal research projects
• Deliver AI/ML and data science solutions to address a broad range of defense-related problems
• Work with autonomy on assigned tasks and generate ideas for new research directions
• Communicate technical ideas and present demonstrations to senior stakeholders and technical leaders

Requirements

• BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Proficiency in Python coding and experience with ML packages such as HuggingFace, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms, including Generative AI, NLP, and computer vision
• Experience training and developing AI models, including Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific writing for internal and external publication
• Proven experience delivering ML solutions to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree with a focus on academic research
• Experience using robust ML pipelines, version control, and environment management (e.g., Docker)
• Working knowledge of Linux systems and command-line functionality
• Experience working in Cloud environments, particularly AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Research publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience delivering AI/ML projects within the defense or government sectors
