Data Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical solutions and production-ready models to solve pricing and promotions problems.
• Apply advanced machine learning and AI techniques to derive business value from internal and external datasets using cloud technology.
• Collaborate on the development of pricing elasticity modeling, promotional campaign optimization, and discount recommendations.
• Translate complex data and methodologies into strategic, operationally feasible insights for stakeholders.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Document code and approaches while contributing to community best practices.

Requirements

• Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or an equivalent discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in developing models and algorithms in a commercial environment.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Expertise in multivariate statistical modelling (clustering, regression, time-series forecasting, Bayesian methods) and machine learning.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Looker, Streamlit, or Tableau.
• Experience with ML orchestration systems like Kubeflow, Vertex AI Pipelines, or Airflow.
• Proficiency with Spark and experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP or AWS).
• Experience implementing and optimizing Large Language Models (LLMs) for business applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in the retail or FMCG industry.
• Experience working within an agile methodology.
• Expertise in standard software engineering methodologies, including unit testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.
