Data Scientist Director – Business Banking Client Analytics

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of analytics leaders, data scientists, and analysts to deliver strategic insights for business banking.
• Define and execute customer segmentation and targeting frameworks to identify growth opportunities.
• Build measurement and experimentation capabilities, including test-and-learn and causal approaches, to optimize outcomes.
• Translate client, product, and transaction data into actionable insights for marketing and product strategies.
• Develop competitive intelligence analytics to monitor market trends and competitor positioning.
• Partner with Strategy, Finance, Risk, and Data Governance teams to ensure analytic integrity and effective controls.
• Attract, hire, and mentor top analytics talent while fostering an inclusive and innovative culture.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data science, or applied quantitative research.
• 5+ years of applied quantitative research or model development experience in financial services (specifically business or commercial banking).
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of data scientists or technical experts.
• Proven ability to deliver analytics-driven recommendations to senior business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills to translate complex technical concepts into business strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail, small business, or commercial banking.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, along with experience in modern data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning methods, including supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, and predictive modeling.
• Experience using modern AI tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot).
• Experience in organizational change management or enabling self-service analytics.
