About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on bike share and shared mobility to inform planning
  • Prepare reports and briefing materials based on system databases
  • Monitor vendor compliance with regulations, DOT policies, and contract terms
  • Develop predictive models to anticipate future system needs and behavior
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using software such as Power BI
  • Translate data into compelling narratives for senior staff and managers
  • Collaborate with leadership, Operations, Planning, and Policy teams
  • Monitor data quality and maintain data integrity
  • Document data management procedures and support internal databases

Requirements

  • Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental, or social science, or public health
  • For higher levels: Doctorate with one year of supervisory/research experience, or Master's with three years of research experience
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling

About the Company

The NYC DOT Bike Share & Shared Mobility unit is responsible for the planning and oversight of the Citi Bike program and other shared micromobility services in New York City.
