Data Scientist/App Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software requirements for AI/ML-based support capabilities, including architectures, APIs, frameworks, and libraries
• Develop front-end and back-end software components and tooling for prototyping and mature product iteration
• Maintain existing codebases for in-production applications, performing bug fixes, security updates, and performance enhancements
• Collaborate closely with clients and requirements owners to build out product lines
• Work within a tool development team to compose cohesive, scalable software designs
• Document requirements and specifications and review documentation from external vendors
• Optimize software architectures to meet performance targets and devise methodologies to capture performance metrics
• Stay current on the latest AI/ML system trends, design patterns, and DevSecOps methodologies

Requirements

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance (must be able to achieve TS/SCI clearance with scope)
• Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, plus at least one additional programming language
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue
• Experience with backend runtimes and frameworks like Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot, Django, or Flask
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and providing leadership within an Agile framework
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Git runners, code scanning tools)
• Experience operating in cloud-based development and production environments (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Object Relational Modeling persistence frameworks like SQLAlchemy
• Strong communication skills to facilitate engineering efforts and collaborate with customers
