Data Scientist 2

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytics, including predictive modeling and data mining, within a big data environment to deliver actionable insights.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data pre-processing to drive model selection and performance.
• Train, tune, and validate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, such as regression, tree-based models, and neural networks.
• Translate analytical results into business recommendations and communicate findings to internal partners and stakeholders.
• Research industry trends, emerging algorithms, and new tools to enhance modeling effectiveness and efficiency.
• Adhere to model risk management protocols, including creating governance documentation and collaborating on model validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Economics, or Computer Science.
• 2 to 5 years of related work experience in data science or advanced analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms (e.g., Bagging, Boosting, Neural Nets).
• Experience with Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing statistical or machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Time Series Forecasting.
• Familiarity with GenAI tooling, including LLM frameworks, embeddings, and vector stores.
• Knowledge of model monitoring, drift detection, and retraining workflows.
• Experience working within the financial services industry.
