Data Scientist 2

Responsibilities

• Identify and frame AI opportunities across Technical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to translate ambiguous problems into measurable use cases.
• Lead end-to-end data science projects, including solution design, development, deployment, and authoring business cases.
• Build and validate ML/AI models for process monitoring, anomaly detection, yield optimization, and intelligent document processing.
• Develop GenAI solutions such as RAG pipelines, semantic search, and technical Q&A assistants using enterprise platforms.
• Operationalize models (MLOps) by working with Data Engineering to ensure reproducible pipelines, monitoring drift and performance.
• Drive data visualization and decision support through clear narratives and dashboards for engineers and executives.
• Advance the Integrated Technical Data Strategy by acquiring and preparing multi-source technical data from systems like MES, LIMS, and SAP.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering Data/AI solutions in an industry setting.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data wrangling, feature engineering, and automation.
• Proven experience building and operationalizing GenAI pipelines (Chunking, RAG, Vector index) on Databricks.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (storage, compute, Azure OpenAI).
• Proficiency with enterprise Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
• Demonstrated experience working within biotech or biopharma operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing Python-based web applications using frameworks like Dash, Flask, or Streamlit.
• Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV) documentation practices in regulated environments.
• Experience extracting and structuring data from unstructured sources (SOPs, PDFs) using NLP.
