Data Program Manager

About the Company

Odyssey is an AI lab pioneering general world models: causal, multimodal systems that learn to predict and interact with the world over long horizons. The team consists of world-class researchers from DeepMind, Tesla, Waymo, Meta, Apple, and Wayve.

Responsibilities

• Turn fuzzy, disparate data requests from Research into scoped, sequenced acquisition plans with quality bars and timelines
• Manage multiple vendors across verticals and data types, negotiating favorable commercial terms
• Manage human teams and contractors that acquire proprietary data and enforce quality measures
• Own the weekly data-needs review and forecast, force-prioritizing and surfacing trade-offs to leadership
• Embed in research planning to flag data risks ahead of model runs
• Define and track quality and throughput metrics across active data programs
• Drive program retrospectives to analyze data impact on evaluations and cost efficiency

Requirements

• 5+ years of program or product management at a technical company
• At least 2 years of experience in an AI, ML, or data-intensive context
• Ability to understand ML research papers and their data requirements
• Working knowledge of SQL and basic data analysis
• Proven experience negotiating with external vendors
• Track record of driving cross-functional programs in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a TPM or program manager at a frontier AI lab
• Background in data labeling, human data collection, or RLHF programs at scale
• Familiarity with AI evaluation methodology or rubric design
• Prior experience as an early hire at an early-stage company
