Data Platform Operations Service Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day technical operations of Data Platforms, including Data Lakes, Databricks, Unity Catalogues, and Azure AI platforms
• Lead L2/L3 operations to ensure 24/7 monitoring, alerting, and high availability of the Data Platform landscape
• Oversee incident, problem, change, and release management using ITIL best practices
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on troubleshooting for platform optimization and disaster recovery
• Manage and mentor a globally distributed team of operations professionals, contractors, and strategic partners
• Define and track SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for platform operations and service improvement
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and validation requirements across all data platforms
• Drive OPEX cost optimization initiatives and manage release processes for Data Engineering products

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Operations Management, Data Platform Operations, or Technical Service Delivery
• Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Data & AI platforms, including Azure Data Lakes, Databricks, Data Factory, and Synapse
• Proven experience managing ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools
• Deep understanding of Cloud Operations (IaaS and PaaS), specifically within the Azure ecosystem
• Extensive experience with ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management
• Proficiency in CI/CD implementation using Git-based source control, Azure DevOps, or GitHub
• Proven people leadership capabilities and experience managing enterprise-scale teams
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience operating within highly regulated environments with a focus on data security and compliance
