Data Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Migrate multi-technology architectures to Databricks, Unity Catalog, and dbt
• Build and maintain production data pipelines using Spark, SQL, and Airflow
• Implement DataOps practices including CI/CD, data testing, and observability with Datadog
• Manage data governance, security, and access control via Unity Catalog
• Optimize Delta tables and monitor costs and performance
• Collaborate with data science, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver reliable data solutions

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Data Engineering or DataOps
• Mastery of SQL and Spark
• Hands-on experience with Databricks (Jobs, Workflows, Delta)
• Understanding of data governance and RBAC
• Experience with CI/CD and observability cultures
• Proficiency in Python or SQL for pipeline development

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with dbt
• Knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka or Event Hubs
• Experience with orchestrators such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster
• Background in retail data analysis (sales, margins, loyalty)
