Data Platform Architect

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise data architecture across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Databricks
• Establish reference architectures and standards for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption
• Lead architectural decisions for platforms including Azure Data Lake and hybrid data environments
• Design data architectures that enable AI/ML, advanced analytics, and GenAI use cases
• Support feature stores, model training pipelines, and inference data patterns in production
• Enable self-service analytics and reporting through Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
• Define and support standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, access control, and compliance
• Mentor data engineers and analysts on architecture standards and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics platform delivery
• Strong experience with Azure data services
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks
• Proven experience building and governing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional, lakehouse, or domain-oriented)
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting AI/ML or GenAI solutions in production
• Knowledge of modern analytics and lakehouse architectures
• DevOps/DataOps experience for data platforms
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata, and lineage tools
• Relevant certifications in Azure, Databricks, or AI/ML
