About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise data architecture across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Databricks
- Establish reference architectures and standards for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption
- Lead architectural decisions for platforms including Azure Data Lake and hybrid data environments
- Design data architectures that enable AI/ML, advanced analytics, and GenAI use cases
- Support feature stores, model training pipelines, and inference data patterns in production
- Enable self-service analytics and reporting through Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Define and support standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, access control, and compliance
- Mentor data engineers and analysts on architecture standards and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics platform delivery
- Strong experience with Azure data services
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks
- Proven experience building and governing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional, lakehouse, or domain-oriented)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AI/ML or GenAI solutions in production
- Knowledge of modern analytics and lakehouse architectures
- DevOps/DataOps experience for data platforms
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata, and lineage tools
- Relevant certifications in Azure, Databricks, or AI/ML
