Data Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate and support core data platform components including Alibaba Cloud DataWorks, MaxCompute, Hologres, Flink, and AWS-based platforms like Databricks and StarRocks
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and SLA/SLO metrics for data platform services
• Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive long-term fixes through post-incident reviews
• Analyze compute, storage, and cluster resource usage to improve performance and optimize cloud costs
• Develop automation scripts and operational tools to improve health checks, releases, and scaling efficiency
• Collaborate with data engineering, BI, and platform teams to improve overall platform reliability

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data platform operations, big data engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or cloud infrastructure operations
• Experience with either AWS or Alibaba Cloud
• Hands-on experience with big data platforms such as MaxCompute, Databricks, Flink, Spark, Hive, or Trino
• Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting data issues and performance problems
• Solid Linux fundamentals and scripting experience with Shell or Python
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting skills under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Alibaba Cloud services like DataWorks, MaxCompute, or Hologres
• Experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, Athena, or Redshift
• Experience operating or tuning OLAP engines like StarRocks, ClickHouse, or Presto
• Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or CI/CD pipelines
