Data Migration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead data migrations from client legacy systems to Mitratech products on Oracle and SQL Server platforms
• Perform data analysis, evaluation, and cleanup to ensure data integrity
• Develop, validate, and execute complex migration scripts and technical requirements
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers to create source-to-target mapping documentation
• Participate in data design sessions and address data inconsistencies with clients
• Assist in building script libraries, documenting processes, and training internal resources
• Manage script execution and go-live activities, including troubleshooting migration issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of extensive hands-on experience in database development and scripting (Oracle and SQL Server)
• Proficiency with ETL processes including SQL Loader, Pentaho, and SSIS
• In-depth knowledge of administering Oracle (12c/19c) and SQL Server (2012+)
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse principles
• Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
• Proficiency with HTML, XML, JavaScript, and VBScript
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
• Experience using Subversion or similar code repositories

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of database encryption practices
• Experience with object-oriented programming (C#, .NET, Java, or J2EE)
• Experience with Web Services (SOAP and RESTful)
• Experience in technical documentation writing, such as data dictionaries or architectural diagrams
• Previous experience in client-facing roles leading data requirement sessions
