Data Management Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the big data analytics environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
• Monitor system health, perform routine maintenance, coordinate upgrades, and troubleshoot platform issues.
• Provide hands-on support for data ingestion pipelines, query engines, visualization platforms, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Administer AWS EC2 instances, including provisioning, configuration, scaling, performance tuning, and cost management.
• Integrate and apply AI and machine learning tools to automate routine tasks and optimize data processing efficiency.
• Develop and enforce data governance standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics infrastructure, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.
• Working knowledge of AWS services, specifically EC2, S3, EMR, and IAM.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or PySpark.
• Familiarity with SQL and PL/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI or ML tools in a data engineering context.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Apache HTTP server configuration and management.
• Knowledge of C, JavaScript, jQuery, PERL, or Bash.
