Data Management/Governance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing data governance frameworks and documenting policies and procedures
• Support metadata management, cataloging tasks, and the lifecycle management of data assets
• Monitor data quality, compliance, and help enforce data privacy standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data stewardship roles
• Participate in audits, reporting activities, and the integration of governance tools with cloud environments
• Provide training on governance best practices

Requirements

• An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management or a related field
• Basic understanding of data governance principles
• Ability to learn and utilize metadata management tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to data governance tools such as Collibra or Alation
• Knowledge of data lineage analysis and data quality monitoring
• Familiarity with DoD compliance standards and federal cybersecurity requirements
• Understanding of zero-trust security models and AI/ML governance considerations
• Experience with enterprise data platforms or agile governance implementation
