Data Infrastructure Engineer

Alljoined is creating a future where humans are fully understood and augmented by technology. Our work solves the communication bottleneck between humans and computers by decoding thoughts from the brain, entirely non-invasively using deep learning research on large scale EEG datasets.

Responsibilities

• Build backend and hardware architecture to support high-quality research
• Own the entire data lifecycle, from building pipelines for massive multimodal datasets to managing compute clusters
• Bridge the gap between physical neuro hardware and central repositories
• Provision and manage cloud and bare metal compute clusters for foundational model training
• Optimize low-level I/O bound operations and production deployment

Requirements

• 3+ years of production software engineering experience
• Deep expertise in systems-level architecture
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, C++, or Go
• Experience building and maintaining high-performance ETL pipelines for terabytes of unstructured data
• Ability to architect and maintain bare-metal local compute clusters and high-speed networking
• Experience handling continuous, highly concurrent data streams from heterogeneous hardware
• Ability to manage databases like TimescaleDB or ClickHouse and sync datasets between on-premise and cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of modern ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience maximizing and saturating GPU utilization
• Experience managing networking for distributed GPU training (InfiniBand, RoCE)
• Experience with programmatic video processing using FFmpeg, GStreamer, or OpenCV
